Goodbye Assemblies!

Our last day of assemblies was wonderful, but sad. It's hard to let go of something so impactful in your life and in the lives of children all across America. It was a great day of accomplishment!

My Birthday Weekend!!

My weekend was full of special birthday surprises from my team and from my family. It was a weekend full of fun! Friday night we grilled out at the Overlean's house (a music pastor in the area that we've become good friends with) and played many entertaining games! They surprised me by knowing that it was my birthday weekend and bringing out the most amazing icecream cake!

On Saturday morning, the van was decorated by some of my team members with balloons, streamers, banners, confetti, presents, cards, and purple flowers EVERYWHERE!! The whole team was wearing purple, silver, black, or white. After eating Mcdonalds for lunch, we went to downtown Vegas and toured the Luxor Hotel, Mandalay Bay Resort, and the Excalibur Hotel. (When you can't spend any money, you tour hotels!) That night we did our sound check at Redrock Baptist Church, had more ice-cream cake and singing with our dinner,and then spent the night in our host homes. On Sunday, the pastor presented me with two dozen roses in honor of my birthday - thanks to a little phone call from my Mom! It was a wonderful weekend! Here are some pictures!

The Walk of Boards!!

Last week my team stayed in host homes in one of our favorite places, Bellingham, WA. One of the boy's host wanted to take us to the "boardwalk". We were very excited because we were thinking we were going to the city with fun people and music....BUT this is really what it was - A real walk on the boards right on the water.

Monterrey, Ca!!!

A few weeks ago, the girl's host home gave us their car and said "Go have fun!" So we did! We went to Monterrey, CA for the afternoon and did whatever we could in a few hours time.
