April's Journey

This is a journal of my travels with the ministry team of Living Proof/Primary Focus. I hope you enjoy reading about my experiences and the things that God accomplishes while my team and I journey together.

The Wreck

This was taken right after the wreck...a couple of day later, all of these shelves were on the ground.
The other car.

Today we were traveling from Las Vegas to Bakersfield, CA on what was supposed to be a 6 hour drive. Well, it turned out to be about a 12 hour ordeal. A little over halfway of driving through grassy hills with a gas station about 30 miles, a blue Honda Civic drove straight into the back left side of our van causing it to spin into our trailor. You see, they had a towel hanging in their window to block the sunlight and didn't even see us coming down the street. It was an older couple in their 60's. The woman was driving and she's okay, the gentleman was taken in an abulance, and their car is completely totalled. Everyone in our van is okay. Our van is a little banged up and a corner of our trailor is caved in. The shelves and cubbies on the inside are all collapsed, leaving our product bins in pretty bad shape! And there's obviously alot of luggage and stuff on the floor. Finally, we made it to dinner with our host familes at around 9 o'clock tonight. It's been a very eventful day and an incredible reminder that God is in control. He knows the very next moment along with the next 20 years. I tell this story not to cause fright but to, once again, ask for your prayers. They're vital to our ministry to strangers, our peace amongst team members, our worship-leading of the saints, and our day-to-day safety. I sit on the back left side of the van where the car hit underneath my window and I firmly believe someone was praying for my safety today. Thank you! Las Vegas was wonderful and I'll be putting some pictures up soon! There's alot to choose from! Thank you again!

Da Grape. I love you. I'm glad to hear that everything is ok and that no one was injured, outside of the older gentleman. I don't know what i would have done, if you were to get hurt. I probably would have gone K-R-A-Z-Y! How are you doing spiritually? I pray that you are being challenged daily, but not only God, but self and your team-mates. You are a beautiful young woman in and out and i pray that God keeps His path for you illuminated before you. So that you may always reference where your goal lies, when times of despair try to set in and cause you anguish. God is a GOOD God. May you continue to focus on the cross and may ever hide underneath the shadow of its grace and love and mercy. Grape you are loved and appreciated. I miss you. keep doing what you do best... loving people.

Happy Thanksgiving April. Sure hope ya found some good old southern cooking somewhere on the road. Praise the Lord ya were not hurt in the wreck. Your safety has been a major concern to me. With as much traveling as ya do, the odds are too great against you. Stay safe and prayed up. I'll see you soon, only 3 weeks left. Love you....MeMe

Okay, Ape. I thought we had an agreement that while we are apart we would do our best not to get hurt!!! I know this is hard considering the unbelievable amount of "klutziness" we both inherited but I am going to need you to not get in anymore wrecks. If you do I am going to have to jump on a plane and take care of you myself!

I know that the wreck was scary but I also know that you handled it great. More importantly, I know that you have an amazing God watching out for you better than mom, dad, myself or anyone else could.

I can't wait to see you and talk about everything in appr. 3 weeks and 2 days. I love you, Ape.

Be safe!
